You just tell FSUIPC to map button whatever to the key combo you want from the ACM, by choosing the "Select for key press" checkbox in the "Buttons + Switches" tab when assigning an action to a joystick button. I'm assuming there has to be some sort of middle-man program or other config file in this somehow and if so, how does that work, where does it go, etc? like assignment "A" in ACM will equal assignment "B" in FSUIPC if that makes sense. So it's like a need a "cross-match grid" to get one to talk to the other or something.

(Can I and if not, what are the alternatives?) I know how to use FSUIPC, quite well in fact, but I see that none of the ACM keys and commands available match up directly with any of the available assignments in FSUIPC. I own FSUIPC 4x (registered) and prefer to use it if possible. I'd gladly make a good tutorial myself on all this too once learned as I made a god quick start guide several years ago for FSUIPC that has helped hundreds of people but with this new endeavor with FSUIPC I'm just a little stuck and grounded myself until I can figure it out. I'm sure this is all relatively easy to explain and bullet point for noobs like me so please beg my pard! I've searched on the forum several times with various keywords but it seems to often end with several guys who were stuck exactly right here too and then no final answers to address this were ever posted. Once the basics of assigning functions to buttons / switches are learned, the second issue is to also decide what I want to assign each button to actually do (which I know is somewhat different for everyone's tastes but assume there are many key commonalities too) - I'd really like to know more about this and what some of those are, any tips, etc. Those are the most obvious to start with and most universal. So far I have mapped the pitch-elevator / roll-aileron and rudder and brakes functions and throttle with FSUIPC. I have the Thrustmaster Cougar stick and throttle (not the illustrious Warthog which seems to be the big standard in the forums). And if so, how does that work, where does it go, etc? So do I need another program or script utility to create a "cross- grid" to get one to talk to the other or to make assignment "A" in ACM equal assignment "B" in FSUIPC? I read in a few place that people have used some sort of middle-man program or other config file in this somehow. Can I successfully use with the TackPack and F18 and if not, what are the alternatives? I know how to use FSUIPC, quite well in fact, but I see that none of the ACM keys and commands available match up directly with any of the available assignments in FSUIPC. I own FSUIPC 4x (registered) and prefer to use it if possible as I use it with other standard FS aircraft. After a few days of this I think this worthy of a post for initial controller setup. I see that there are many various mapping configs that people have posted but there are no base instructions how to actually use them or create them, where they go, etc, and all references to FSUIPC quickly lead to a dead end so not much of this is making intuitive sense to me. After reading through the forums I've quickly found that virtually no data exists on how to set up and bind available assignments in the ACM to hardware via FSUIPC as the available assignment names in FSUIPC are inherently different and not as specialized. It's everything else I need a good steer on. So far I've only been able to map pitch and roll, the throttle settings, and the rudders/brakes.

For controls I'm using the Thrustmaster Cougar stick and Throttle and Saitek Combat Pro pedals. I own the registered payware edition of FSUIPC and would prefer to use it as both the Calibration and Assignment utility if I can as I've used it extensively in the past with Microsoft FS and P3D but with different controls. Howdy sailors, I bought the Tackpack and Superbug this week to set up my desk sim as a fighter.
